I look like a raisin that has been left out in the sun for too long. Like a bad train wreck unfolding before my eyes – or like when a group of overweight midgets run by you on the beach wearing thong bikinis – I cringed to watch but couldn’t bring myself to turn away either.
You might want to bring some extra band-aids when you watch this….
…..because I am CUT THE F*CK UP!!!</em>

Christine Wan – 1998 NPC Southeastern USA Bodybuilding Championships
Hmmm…what I’ve been up to since the last post, other than putting on ten pounds of curves since the Kentucky show….
….let me think…as I drink…
I worked an event for GNC last month (The Gold Cup)…….
…and attended the South Florida Championships last night. I had helped out my friend, Alex, who was competing for the first time.
He entered the novice divsion and won his class.
While backstage, helping apply his color, we got to know a fellow competitor sitting next to us. He needed some help with his color as well, so I offered up. Yeah, I know – tough job, rubbing oil and color onto handsome young men’s bodies (down, cougar, down!). Anyhow, unbeknownst to me, the fellow competitor was none other than AFitness Connection’s own Flynn Nolan, fellow blogger.
The AFitness Crew, minus Mr. AFitness himself.
He must have been out getting my shirt made. I’m sure of it.
MusclePapa John Hawley (www.musclepapa.com ) was there covering the event and shot a ton of footage. Here’s an extremely amusing video clip…the angle of the camera made my shape of my face look funny and i hate the sound of my voice, but I found myself laughing out loud nonetheless…
That’s about it. Still working in the gym…
….and still taking pictures and having fun with Photoshop.
Here are a few pictures from the Kentucky Pro Figure show that I competed in last weekend.
I placed 10th out of 27. It’s nice to know I can still hang with women in their 20’s and 30’s!
I’ll post some more backstage and candid pics in a few days. Hang tight and don’t forget to register on the AFitness Connection main page if you haven’t already!
On the way out to Vegas for the Olympia…here’s me and Desha….
…oh, look - who’s that hottie with the skull cap and glasses (who is also deathly afraid of flying and needed to be heavily self-medicated)?
Day one…GNC at the expo……….
…me and Adela TRI- ing to strike a pose…get it? tri-ing…..
seeing triple, its me with the Frahn twins and older sis…
Heidi, myself and my partner in crime, Andrea “Dangerous”Dumon who was visiting from the Metrx booth.
Later on that night, we stayed in and behaved, by having a quiet dinner at the hotel’s restaurant instead of going out to one of the industry parties……….
………….…this is our waiter who plied us with alchohol, before food was even served. TROUBLE! So much for behaving….I ended up with a bump on my head, but we won’t get into detail about that…..
These next pics are from Saturday night’s afterparty at Prive’….
I like this next picture. It’s a good representation
of past NPC Figure “A” class champions.
(l-r.) Desha Rodriguez/ 2007 USA’s, myself/ 2003 Nationals, Andrea Dumon /2004 USA’s, and Jenn Gates/2007 Jr. Nationals & reigning Ms. Figure Olympia (congratulations, girl!)!
….. (btw, one of us isn’t wearing panties!)
….the flight home from Vegas is always such a long one….what a great way to end the month of September!
This past weekend I worked the NPC Team Universe/NY Pro Figure event in New York City. It was at this show that I won and earned my pro card back in 2003.
Even before leaving Florida, the trip promised to be full of excitement. Not only was I celebrating my 40th 29th birthday, but I was also flying out at the onset of Hurricane Hanna. Here’s a picture I took of a disgruntled passenger on the plane who needed to be escorted away. Bye-bye, assclown!
The weather in NY wasn’t much better, as Hurricane Hanna, though now downgraded to Tropical Storm, had followed me up the coast.
(walking back to the hotel from the Saturday afternoon prejudging)
“Visting Boston In New York”
I worked the show with Heidi Fletcher, my favorite girl from Boston.
…..and here is me with
my favorite boy from Boston who drove down to hang with
me for my birthday ……
This is what 40-year olds x 2 looks like! That’s 80 years of Asian sensation!
(me and NPC North Americans winner, Ann Pratt.)
Here I am during the trophy presentation of the Team Universe Men’s Bodybuilding.
Congratulations to Zivile Raudoniene on capturing the NY Pro Figure title for the second year in a row!
And as a former bartender, I must pay homage to any bartender who does a great job.
This is Elisa, who served Matty and me at Chevy’s.
Last night, after doing my second cardio session at the gym at 11:30 pm, I called up my partner in crime, Kristin. My birthday was in half an hour and I wanted to be doing something to remember it by other than stairclimbing. It’s not every day a girl turns forty, I mean, twenty-nine.
…We stopped at our local Fridays, where our regular bartender, Kevin, bought me a shot of my usual, 1800. He also brought out a special, fruity, non-cake birthday dessert.
This was the last time I would be able to honestly wear this shirt.
After school, my daughter gave me my card and gift. I had picked it out the day before and had the saleslady set them aside for my daughter and her father to pick up. Here she is modeling my new shades…
Earlier in the week, I met with my friend Mavis, who presented me with this gift basket.
Yummmy!!!!
Okay, off to NY tomorrow to work the NPC Team Universe and celebrate some more! Hopefully, I will be able to stay ahead of the hurricanes lurking in the Atlantic!
Living out of a suitcase – I worked the NPC North American Bodybuilding & Figure show in Cleveland this past weekend.
One of my best friends, Cindy Martinez, competed in the figure division.
Olympia competitors, IFBB Pro Fitness Julie Palmer and IFBB Pro Figure, Jen Gates pose for a picture. Julie worked with me representing GNC.
…signing an 8 x 10 for a fan.
Why are these people telling
me that I’m Number One?
IFBB Pro Figure, Mari Kudla, looking beautiful as ever.
You never know where Isaac Hinds (Lift Studios/ www.harbody.com ) wil pop up. Gotcha!
Greg Henry (8-Ball nutrition) shows Ms. Figure Olympia, Jenny Lynn, and Jen Gates photos from his recent Sturgis trip.
While I was in my hotel room getting ready for the evening show, I heard the sound of a very large jet plane. It sounded like it was right outside my window. Then I remembered my taxi driver mentioning that the Air Show was this weekend. I looked out the window and was able to capture a few images. Pretty cool!
Here are some of the buildings that were also part of my view out the window…..
Yes, I rock.
On the way through airport security, Cindy got stopped for having a KNIFE (!!!!) in her bag! You never know about those Chilean chicks! Thankfully, it was only a butter knife that she STOLE from the hotel to use for her peanut butter. Had it been a steak knife, I would have had more interesting pictures to post, probably involving law enforcement and handcuffs.
This was taken out the window of my connection flight home, out of Atlanta. High above the clouds, on my way home…only to do a half dozen loads of laundry, grocery shop, cook food, and turn around and do it all over again. Next stop, NPC Team Universe in NYC!
